Debbie has been working with children, adolescents and their families for the past 20 years. She specialises in working with trauma and sexual abuse survivors across various cultural groups and religious backgrounds with the aim of breaking the abuse cycle. Debbie is the founding Director of Treehouse Innovative Families — a therapeutic, residential, out-of-home-care program for children and young people who have experienced trauma, neglect and abuse. Today, Debbie focuses her time working with participants on the NDIS and supervising the Core Practitioner’s team.

Leigh is currently managing Creating Positive Pathways Together, which she developed in 2021, and manages a team of 20 staff who support families both in-home and in community settings. The team works collaboratively with a range of therapists including Behaviour Specialists to ensure clients are given opportunities to build capacity and self-esteem. The team works holistically with the whole family.
Leigh began her employment journey in the Early Education sector and has over 20 years of experience in Early Childhood, including Early Intervention and managing local childcare and preschool settings. She later transitioned into Case Management, working within the Child Protection field in Casino and surrounding areas.

Katie brings over 15 years of dedicated experience in the disability sector. Katie has extensive experience working with adults living with a disability, ensuring their voices are heard and respected. She understands the importance of providing culturally sensitive support and an awareness of each individual’s diverse backgrounds and unique needs.
Katie’s journey in the disability sector has taken her to various roles, including Direct Support, Service Management, Quality and Assurance, and Behaviour Support. In these positions, she contributed to compliance with NDIS standards, bridged the gap for participants awaiting funding or referrals, developed strategies to support participants with complex needs, and ensured the well-being of both staff and participants through comprehensive plans. Katie is experienced in crisis management, risk assessments, and implementing behavioural support plans.

Lisa has been working at Queensland Children’s Hospital across both the Child & Adolescent mental health units over the past 8 years. During this time she has worked with an extensive range of challenging behaviours, needs and abilities of her clients. She has worked closely with parents and caregivers in parent training sessions to have the most success in their homes and out in their communities. Lisa also liaises regularly with other members of the client’s treating team in order to achieve the best outcome possible for the child / young person.
Lisa is an approachable, kind and gentle person; a characteristic that assists clients and their families in feeling comfortable to engage with her, allowing for positive interactions and results.

As a behaviour support practitioner, Jamahl develops tailored positive behaviour support plans to assist both adults and children exhibiting challenging behaviours. Jamahl has worked in diverse settings, including aged care homes, supported independent living (SIL) environments, schools, and hospitals.
Jamahl approaches positive behaviour support from a human rights perspective, collaborating with participants to help them understand the factors influencing their behaviour. This collaboration ultimately fosters their independence and ability to manage their lives effectively.
