Lisa has been working at Queensland Children’s Hospital across both the Child & Adolescent mental health units over the past 8 years. During this time she has worked with an extensive range of challenging behaviours, needs and abilities of her clients. She has worked closely with parents and caregivers in parent training sessions to have the most success in their homes and out in their communities. Lisa also liases regularly with other members of the client’s treating team in order to achieve the best outcome possible for the child / young person.
Lisa is an approachable, kind and gentle person; a characteristic that assists clients and their families in feeling comfortable to engage with her, allowing for positive interactions and results.
Lisa is experienced in working with children and adolescents who have been diagnosed a mental illness and she has a special interest in working with client’s with the following diagnoses:
- Eating Disorders
- Separation Anxiety Disorder
- General Anxiety Disorder
- Depression
- ADHD (Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder)
- Autism Spectrum Disorder
- Borderline Personality Disorder
Lisa is always happy and proud witnessing the progress in the children and adolescents that she works with when they reach a goal or achieve a difficult task. She feels that the most rewarding part of this role is developing strong and trusting relationships with the clients through learning all about them as an individual (favourite hobbies, interests etc) and assisting families in exploring these with their child.
